This past weekend I turned thirty years old. For the past six month I've been terrified of this milestone, not wanting to get older and leave my trusty twenties behind. I've realised over the past few days though that maybe my thirties can be better than the previous decade.

Some life lessons I've acquired over the years..

... Never go to bed angry.

... Your children don't need loads of expensive toys and luxuries.. They need your time, love and attention.

... Marmite on it's own isn't good but with cheese it tastes A-MAZ-ING.

... You don't need to drink to have a good time.

... Dance parties in the kitchen will always cheer you up.

... Laughter really is the best medicine.

... As much as you tried to avoid it, as you get older you will see parts of your own Mum come through in your personality.

... Disney movies are great, no matter how old you are.

... You are never too old to learn something new.

... Watching Sex & The City with chocolate can fix most things.

... Do not google medical symptoms.. Just don't...

... Believe in yourself. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Bring it thirty.. Lets see what you've got..

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Love your list! Totally agree with all of them (especially Sex & the City and dance parties in the kitchen!).... It *will* be your best decade! (I'm a whole 11 years ahead of you!)......
