Day 8 - Music that moves you. Are you a Spotify addict or a Pandora guru? Tell us your favorite artists/stations!

I'm boring.. If I want to listen to music then I head over to YouTube. I've never even tried Spotify although I've heard lots of good things about it. Maybe I should give it a go :)

I do love music though. I don't love just one particular type. 80's, 90's, pop, motown, country, power ballads.. I listen to a little bit of everything..

1- Skunk Anansie - Hedonism.

I had never heard of this song until back in 2008 and Anthony randomly played it for me one day. I loved it immediately. It's now my go-to song when I'm in a funk.

2 - Anastacia - Left Outside Alone.

I don't listen to this one much now but whenever I do hear it, I am immediately transported back to 2004. Anthony had been deployed to Kosovo. We had no warning of this deployment. One minute he was in barracks in Windsor, about to come home for a long weekend, then the next he called to say that he was leaving and had no idea how long he would be gone for or when he would next be able to call.. For the next two weeks my phone never left my side. Everyday I would hope and hope that today would be the day that he would call. One night I was sat in my sisters bedroom playing on the computer. This song was playing on the radio and my phone rang. I didn't recognise the number and nearly didn't pick up. I'm so glad I did though because the voice on the other end was amazing. This song always takes me back to that moment.

3 - Dire Straits - Romeo & Juliet.

Our wedding song. When Anthony & I first got together I told him that we needed a song. This was a foreign idea to him, having never done this in a relationship before but I was adamant. We needed a song. It took months! Then one day Anthony called me and asked me to listen to a song down the phone. He played me this and from that day on it's been 'our song.' We danced to it as our first dance when we got married.

4 - Amazed - Lonestar.

I cannot tell you how many hours I spent swaying with a baby James in my arms in the middle of my kitchen in London to this song. I had an iPod back in those days with a playlist of all my favourite songs but this one was the only one that seemed to calm him down. Most days Anthony would come in from work and I would still be there dancing to this song just to keep James from screaming. I cannot listen to this song without being reminded of that period in my life. A first time Mum to a newborn, with no idea what I was doing!

5 - Elvis Presley - Always On My Mind.

Yes. I am a massive Elvis Presley fan. I admit to having his 50 Greatest Hits album on my iPhone :) I just love this song. Theres no story behind why. It is one of my favourite songs though and is on my regular playlist.
