Emily - Twenty Nine Weeks.

Today is - June 3rd, 2013

How far along - 29 weeks.

Baby is - A girl!

Total weight gain - I've been using my home scales but I had a feeling that they weren't working correctly. That was confirmed at my appointment with my midwife on Friday when she weighed me and I've gained 28lbs! That's 2 stone!

Baby is the size of - A butternut squash

Whats going on with baby - Emily's bone marrow is now completley in charge of producing the red blood cells. She is also urinating about half a litre of urine in the amniotic fluid daily.

What going on with Mummy - Apparently over the next few weeks I will notice that I am gaining weight quicker. I already feel like a whale so I'm not too eager to put more weight on any quicker!

Maternity clothing - Yep.. Next week I'm hoping to find some Summer dresses. I'm fed up of jeans digging into my stomach!

Sleep - I haven't napped during the day this week which I'm pleased about because as much as an afternoon nap is lovely, I wake up feeling worse than when I went to sleep! Night time sleep is okay once I find a comfy position, although I tend to wake up around 4am for a bit.

Movement - Her movements are so low down at the moment but I have a feeling that's because she is breech. I have been in and out of the hospital this week because her movements slowed down loads and we were trying to figure out why. I've had lots of heartbeat monitoring and ultrasounds and the little lady seems to be doing well.

Food Cravings/Aversions - I noticed that when I didn't eat regulary I started feeling more nauseous so even when I'm not hungry I'm trying to force myself to eat. I'm not really craving anything at the moment. Well no new ones anyway.

Symptoms -

  • Random bouts of nausea.

  • Sciatica - Still in my left leg and still annoying. It hasn't been as bad this week but again I think that's because she is currently breech. It's still there on and off though.

How is this pregnancy different from the first
 - My Sciatica with James was a distant memory at this point. I wasn't as big as I am this time around either.

Best moments this week -

  • Having two ultrasounds.
  • Being able to rest lots with James off Nursery and not having to take him and pick him up.
