What I'm Afraid Off.

The thing(s) you're most afraid of...

This was our prompt for today, given to us by Jenni. The post I wrote on Day Two which you can find here, pretty much sums up my biggest fear in the whole wide world. Emetophobia. I don't want to write too much seen as I've just done a whole post on it and I don't want to repeat myself. My aim for this little space of mine is to entertain & engage you.. Not to bore you. Let me just say though that this phobia controls my life. It controls everything that I do and there isn't an hour that goes by during the day where I don't think about it.

Some other things that I'm afraid off..

  • Spiders.. I tend to just throw a shoe or some other inanimate object at them.

  • Dying... I've always been afraid of this.. I remember lying in bed at night as a kid and imagining that one day I won't be here and the thought used to freak me out.

  • Giving birth... The trauma of James' birth had faded and I was excited by the prospect of doing it all over again.. Then my Sister had her little girl in March and recounted her awful birth experience to me.. Cue all the horrible feelings rushing back and hitting me like an arctic lorry.. Now I'm terrified!

  • Birds Pooping On Me.. It happened once whilst I was in School.. Everyone laughed at me.. I've never forgiven that Pigeon..

  • Nursing Homes... My Mum used to work in once and occasionally she would take us in with her. Everything about them wiggs me out, especially the smell..

What are you most afraid off?

  6. Wow, thank you for sharing this! I had never heard of Emetophobia before reading about it on your blog! Re: giving birth, this is probably an overshare from a new reader, but I am terrified of it because I heard a lot of women poop on the table during childbirth, and the thought of my husband seeing that terrifies me! ;-)

    1. That was a big fear off mine too when I had my son but when I was actually in labor I was in that much pain that I honestly didn't care! Thankfully I didn't poop or if I did my husband lied and said I didn't! :)

  7. You know I have had a bunch of birds poop on me LOL

I had no idea what Emetophobia was, wow.

As for birth, just remember that everyone is different, just because someone has a horrible birth story doesn't mean it will happen to you :)
