What Do I Do?

Day Six - If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?

When I was at School, our class was asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Whilst kids were answering that question with things like "Doctor" "Vet" and "Fireman.." I only ever had one answer.. "I want to be a Wife & a Mummy"

I didn't go to college after school. After years of bullying I couldn't face a further two more years in education so off I went to join the workforce. I've worked in Shops and in Customer Service departments for big companies. When I fell pregnant with James though, I stopped working. Anthony and I discussed early on in our relationship about having children and that we both wanted me to be able to stay at home with them.

I get asked a lot.. "What do you do all day?" Well, let me tell you.. First of all I have never worked as hard in all my life as I do now.. There is no 9am to 5pm for me. I'm on call twenty-four hours a day. There are no holidays, no days off just for fun.

The Government once worked out that if they had to pay a Mum for everything that she done it would work out at £67,000 a year.. Off course I'd love that in my bank account but I get paid in smiles, sloppy kisses and sticky finger prints and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm an Alarm Clock, Chauffeur, Cook, Cleaner, Nurse, Photographer, Cheerleader, Laundrette, Teacher, Comforter, Personal shopper, Accountant, Personal Assistant & Hairdresser. I clean up spilt milk and wipe dirty hands. I comfort boo-boo's and scrub the bath tub.

And I wouldn't change it for all the money in the world :)
