Day 10: Most embarrassing moment(s). Spill.

I hate being embarrassed. I go red faced, my palms sweat and I stumble over my words.. Yes, I do not wear embarrassment well.

I've been thinking about my most embarrassing moments and trying to figure out which one was the best to write about. The good thing is that even though embarrassment and I don't go well together, I don't get embarrassed a lot. I do remember one particular time though that I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me whole.

Rewind four and a half years ago. We're living in London, Anthony was still in the Army and I was heavily pregnant with James. When I say heavily pregnant I must have only had about 4 weeks left so I was big and uncomfortable.

We had one of Anthony's friends from work over for dinner with his new girlfriend. We ate and then decided that we were going to have a movie fest.. Everyone had big plans that we were going to stay up all night, like we were eighteen again.

I think I lasted through two films before I fell asleep on the Living Room floor. I think everyone expected that the pregnant woman wouldn't make it the whole night. I have no idea how long I was asleep for but all I do remember is waking myself up.. And not in a pleasant way.. Lets just say that anyone that has been pregnant has probably experienced the reality that at some points you cannot contain your bodily functions and the excess wind.. Coupled that with a baby pressing on your organs and well yes....

I woke myself up by farting.. Loudly..

I remember lying there, still with my eyes closed, thinking.. "Please let no one have heard that.."

Poor Anthony tried to cover for me.. He made out it was him.. His friend turned round and replied.. "Dude.. I think that was Liane.."

I have never been so embarrassed in my life. My palms are starting to sweat as I write this!

  1. That is really funny! I love that your husband tried to cover for you, but they didn't believe him.

  2. Haha...it happens to the best of us :)

  3. Found you via the link up :)

I couldn't stop laughing when I read this! My husband wanted to know what was so funny, but I was laughing too hard to tell him. Especially loved the bit about your husband trying to cover for you. How sweet!

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment! I read every single message that is left for me and try to respond to everyone :)
