Fab Friday.

****Firstly, before I start my Fab Friday, I want to apologise for my lack of posts. You've probably guessed that I am still without the Internet at home. I'm trying to post from my phone where I can but its slow and honestly, a pain in the backside. I miss daily blogging so so much and cannot wait until I am back!****

So now.. What's been Fab this week?

I am 99% sure I felt Peanut kick last night! This makes me so happy :)

I painted James' bedroom at the weekend. I've wanted to do it for so long. I still have the ceiling and the skirting boards to do but the walls are done and I love the colour.

I'm not normally a big fan off ice cream but lately I've been craving mint choc chip and I currently have a whole tub in the freezer.

I *think* touch wood, I have finally turned a corner with my morning sickness. It is still there on and off but nothing as bad as it was.

James has been so funny this week! I think 4 years old is my favourite age so far. The other day we were walking and it was windy, he turned to me and said "Mummy. My eyes are melting.." Obviously he meant his eyes were watering but it was cute.

My sister is due with her first baby on this Wednesday!!! I cannot wait for my little niece to make her debut :)

I hope you all have a Fab weekend!

How far along - 15 weeks

Baby is the size of - An apple

Total Weight Gain - We brought new scales this week an they're saying that I've gained about 12lb.. I'm going to the hospital today though so I should get weighed properly.

What's going on with Baby - Peanut can now sense light! If I was to shine a flash light at my tummy he/she would try to move away from it!

What's going on with Mummy - Pretty much same old, same old..

Maternity clothing - None of my pre-pregnancy trousers fit me anymore but I don't have enough maternity wear yet so when I have to leave the house then I squeeze into my normal jeans and trousers then as soon as I home the sweats go back on!

Sleep - Most nights I haven't had to use the toilet throughout the night which makes sleeping through a lot easier :) I'm still tired all the time. I don't think that's going to change any time soon.

Movement - Nope not yet. Although once this week I felt something which I am sure was the baby but I don't want to say it definitely was incase I'm just imagining it!

Food cravings/Aversions - I have craved crisps this week. I'm not going to say how many bags I've eaten in total because its embarrassing!

Symptoms -

Morning Sickness - Still there on and off.

Heartburn - The past two days it has been ok-ish.. Thursday it was awful.

Sciatica - I had it with James and now it's started again. It flairs up if I walk too far.

How is this pregnancy different from the first - I wasn't showing at all with James at this stage and if I'm remembering correctly around this stage my morning sickness started to calm down.

Best moments -

James turned four!!
We spent a quiet weekend at home just us three.. On Sunday we had a Potter-thon :)

A Pregnant Lady and DIY

Today when I woke up I figured it would be a great idea to paint James' bedroom. I've wanted to do it for ages. I painted it about 18 months ago but then a certain four year old drew all over his walls with crayons..

Back to this morning.. I decided that this weekend would be perfect for a little DIY.. I figured I might aswel do it before I get too pregnant.. Plus I wanted it done before Peanut gets here.

Thinking about it now.. Ten hours later when I am sore, stiff and so tired I could sleep standing up, I am wondering what was I thinking!!? My only saving grace is that I got so much done today that hopefully tomorrow will be slightly easier.

So if you're pregnant and planning a DIY session.. Learn from my mistakes and DON'T DO IT!!

Fab Friday.

It's been a few weeks since I've been able to post a Fab Friday so I have a few Fab Things to catch up on :)

I've already blogged about James' birthday but it was that Fab that it has to be mentioned again! James keeps telling everyone that will listen that he is now four years old..

We have lots of birthday cake left over.. That in itself for a pregnant woman is something to be celebrated..

On Monday I will be 15 weeks pregnant. It's another 6 weeks until my next ultrasound but next week I have an appointment with my midwife so I'll be able to hear the heartbeat.

I am loving my Fab little baby bump :)

I have a quiet, relaxing weekend planned. I overdone it yesterday and am paying for it today, plus my house looks like a tornado just went through it.. I plan to spend time cleaning, resting, knitting, reading & playing with James.. We have lots of new toys to try out!

And to end here are a few iPhone photos. I've sucked at taking photos lately and I miss it.. Next week the camera will make an appearance again.

Today James turned four years old.

Did you know that four years is 208 weeks.. Or 1,460 days. I have spent most of today wondering how my little guy, turned into this big four year old so quickly. Five minutes ago he was lying in his moses basket and now he's this big person with such a massive personality that its scary.

Today has held lots of emotions.. Mostly happy but a little bit sad too. It's going so quickly.

He got to have the day off from Nursery and this afternoon he had a small Pizza Tea with his friends. Several times today he has come over to me and said.. "Mummy, this is the best birthday ever.."

It was simple but he loved it.

Now I have a very tired four year old that needs to go to bed. Tonight I think I will spend an extra few minutes snuggling with him.. Before I know it he will be five!

This was written on Monday but as usual my lack of Internet hindered me being able to post it at the time of writing :)

Today is - Monday, February 18th, 2013

How far along - 14 weeks

Baby is the size of - A Nectarine

Total Weight Gain - Still at 10lbs.

What's going on with baby - Peanut has developed soft nails on all of her fingers and toes. He/she is practicing breathing and their digestive system is practicing moving food around the body.

What's going on with Mummy - My hormones are still going crazy. I am so over the first trimester symptoms.

Maternity clothing - None of my pre-pregnancy trousers fit me anymore but I don't have enough maternity wear yet so when I have to leave the house then I squeeze into my normal jeans and trousers then as soon as I home the sweats go back on!

Sleep - Oh how I wish I could sleep for 18 hours a day. I find it hard to wake up in the morning but once I'm up I'm normally good.. As long as I keep moving that is.. Come the afternoon if I stop then that's it, I'm no good for anything and just want to sleep.

Movement - Nope not yet.

Food cravings/Aversions - One minute I'm as hungry as a horse and the next I feel so nauseous so food is a bit hit and miss at the moment. I'm still craving carbohydrates though.

Symptoms -

Morning Sickness - Still there on and off. I wish it would just so one! I thought it was getting better but this week has been worse than last week.

Heartburn - Has been awful. Enough said.

Sciatica - I had it with James and now it's started again. It flairs up if I walk too far.

How is this pregnancy different from the first - Everything seems to be happening earlier this time around.

Best moments - We had an ultrasound on Friday! Little one is doing amazing! I got my definite due date, August 19th :)

Baby Peanut!

I felt like I have waited for this day for forever. In reality it had only been 6.5 weeks but when you are dying to get that first proper look at your baby, it feels like each day is a week.

Finally yesterday I got to have my ultrasound! There was a beautiful beating heart, 4 limbs, 2 feet, 2 hands and a perfect spine that the technician said was "beautiful!"

My confirmed due date is August 19th, three days after my birthday and our wedding anniversary. I am so unbelievably excited and happy.

My weekly Peanut updates will now be on a Monday :)

Wordless Wednesday.

Four Years.

In just nine days time my baby will turn four years old.

To me this seems impossible. How has it been four years since this little fireball entered our life, turning it upside and changing everything that I thought that I knew.

It completely blows my mind that this time four years ago I was sat there, big and fed up, impatiently waiting for him to make an appearance with no idea as to how much I would love him and how much he would change my life.

My tiny newborn that was totally dependent on me is now reading and writing. He's dressing himself and dry through the night. He has his own opinions and lately is not afraid to tell us what they are and when he disagrees with us.

In August he will become a big brother, something which he is very excited about! And even though there will be another little one that will be rocked to sleep in my arms, James will always be my baby. My first born. He is the one that taught me how to be a Mummy.

All that being said.. I still can't get my head around the fact that in nine days he will be four..

Dear Snow..

When you came to visit us in January, I won't lie, it was fun. Snow days, little red cheeks enjoying sledging, hot chocolate snuggled under blankets. I loved it all, even if I did nearly fall and break my pregnant neck a few times..

As much fun as it was though I was pleased when after about ten days you disappeared. I could finally walk outside without feeling like Bambi-On-ice, clinging onto Anthony for dear life.

Well then imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning, opened my bedroom curtains and was greeted by a few inches of the white fluffy stuff covering the ground, whilst big fat flakes still fell from the sky. I understand that it's February and technically still Winter but come on, this is England. We get rain and maybe one snow day a year if we're lucky.. Why the big change all of a sudden?

I would really appreciate it if you could maybe have a word with Spring and ask her when she plans on making an appearance? And maybe you could also stay away for the rest of this year?

With much love and thanks!
A pregnant housewife that is now stuck in the house. xx

The past two weeks I have found myself in a bit of a... Funk.. I guess is the best word. I think it is a mixture of hormones, morning sickness, tiredness and the fact that I am unable to do a lot of the things that I love to do.

Without the Internet, I cannot blog as much as I want to. I said it before but it's true, blogging is more than just a hobby for me. Writing is how I sort through the jumble of thoughts that I have going through my mind. It's how I figure things out. Not being able to do this makes me feel like my head is filled with just a mess of ideas, thoughts and plans.

I've been stuck in the house a lot. Many women know that the first trimester takes everything out of you and I've let it get the better of me. The past three days I have forced myself to leave the house though. I have visited friends and family and it felt good.

I am determined to pull myself out of my little hole that I've dug myself. I need to to focus on the positives..

I'm in the second trimester now so I *should* start feeling better soon..

Spring will be here before we know it.. Nicer weather makes me happy :)

I'm not going to be without the Internet forever. Pretty soon I will I will be back to blogging everyday.

Now I'm off to read my 14,000 Reasons To Be Happy. If that doesn't turn my mood around then nothing will :)

Peanut - Week Thirteen

I'm popping in really quickly whilst I have a few minutes access to the Internet for my Peanut update. Hopefully my lack-of-Internet problem will be sorted soon.

Today is - Saturday, February 9th 2013

How far along - 13 weeks

Baby is the size of - A Tangerine

Total Weight Gain - My scales have broke so I have no idea! Last count was plus 10lb.

What's going on with baby - He/she is growing at 1 inch per week now and all the vital systems are fully developed.
The vocal cords are rapidly developing and underneath the gums are 20 little teeth!

What's going on with Mummy - Hello second trimester!!! Unfortunately I still have the horrible first trimester symptoms.. And can we say hormones!

Maternity clothing - Mostly normal tops but trousers are all either maternity or a bigger size.

Sleep - I'm still tired all the time but whereas I was sleeping all through the night, I'm now sleeping for about 4 hours and then awake for half the night.. Boo to that.. I'm having to go to the toilet at least twice during the night and also this week the pregnancy nightmares have started.

Movement - Nope although I think my mind is starting to play tricks on me.

Food cravings/Aversions - I. Want. Carbohydrates. Enough said..

Symptoms - My morning sickness has been on and off again but mostly on! It is always there but sometimes worse than other times.

My heartburn has kicked up a gear again. I'm am going through Renee's like its my job.

My hormones seem to have come out of nowhere. Today I have randomly started crying 4 times.. I never cry so this is a bit of a shock to me and something that I never experienced when I was pregnant with James.

How is this pregnancy different from the first - The crazy hormones and the tears!

Best moments - James is now on half term break from school which means no rushing in the mornings!
I have my scan on Friday and I cannot wait!
