Tis The Season.

Every year, on the closest weekend to December 1st, our town has a Christmas Faye,  complete with stalls, children's rides, a Santa's Grotto, a band and the switching on ceremony of the Christmas Lights.

Last year, it wasn't great. The stalls weren't fantastic and the line for Santa was so long that we never actually got to see him.. This year, I didn't believe it could happen but it was worse. The only silver lining to the cloud was we got there early so we were at the front of the queue to see Santa!

In James; eyes though, the day was perfect. He didn't care about the lack of stalls or the fact that it was freezing. In his world it was fantastic. He even got Daddy to go on the fun house with him..

We waited in line for what felt like forever in freezing weather.. but it was all worth it for the look on this little ones face when he saw Santa coming down the road. Complete with sleigh and reindeer.

As excited as James was to see Santa, I honestly thought that as soon as we got in there he would either scream or refuse to talk to him.. Instead I listened to this conversation..

Santa - "How old are you James?"
James - "I'm three"
Santa - "Wow! You are getting so big! I remember when you were this little"
James - "Was that when I was zero Santa?"

The best part of the day for me was this!

I love that as a Mum I get to instill the magic of Christmas into James. I remember when I was young and Christmas really was this magical time when anything could happen. I want James to remember that too.. If that means that I have to freeze my behind hands off to do it then that's what I'm going to do!

Happy December! It's Chrissssttmmmmassss!!
