Some days James is as good as gold. Other days he knows how to push my buttons and I find myself wishing bedtime would come sooner.. The past two days have been an exact replica of the latter. I'm presuming it's because of his ear infection. I totally understand that he's three years old and feeling like complete poop and at his age he doesn't have the mental capability to say, "You know what, I'm having a bad day so just leave me alone!" Instead he screams, cries and throw tantrums constantly. I admit that today is one of those days that I am willing bedtime to come faster.

I decided to try and turn a bad day into a good one.. I pulled the Fireman Sam dominos out.. Normally they make him happy..

It worked for about 2.5 seconds..

I then decided that we'd make Jelly.. James loves helping in the kitchen. His speciality is stiring..

That worked.. Until he realised that they Jellies had to go into the fridge to set before he could eat one.. Cue epic meltdown..

In desperation, I even let him use my camera. I was sure that would work.. I got loads of photos of my carpet and James' feet.. He did get a good photo of his Dad though..

Excuse the mess.. Anthony is currently restoring a Piano.. He has his own workshop at the back of the house but his projects always spill over into the kitchen & living room!

Long story short.. Nothing I've done today has helped James' mood. That's ok though.. I know tonight that when James is finally tucked up in bed, I will sit here with a cup of tea and think about all the tantrums and what a testing day it has been but tomorrow is a new day. I'll start over and try and make it better.

"Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”

  1. That is a great attitude to have, today might have been mehhh but tomorrow may be better :)

  2. Thankfully today was better! Maybe having a positive attitude does help after all!! xx
