Miscellany Monday.

I'm linking up with Carissa again for Miscellany Monday! I love this link-up! I always have lots of random thoughts in my head and it's nice to put them down here and try to sort through them!

Firstly, I have no idea why when I link up and post the code for the 'button' I never get the button appear.. It's always just the code.. It's frustrating me but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about quitting smoking. Well, I failed.. Miserably. I think I lasted all of about 4 hours and then life stresses got to me. Not anymore though. I had my last cigarette last night and it's now 2.37pm and I'm still going strong! I have my nicotine patch on and in all honestly I think I've thought about cigarettes 3 times today so thats not bad going. Even when I do think about them it's not that I want one.. It's more that I miss having something to do with my hands.

Talking of something to do with my hands. When I have some spare time I love to knit. Now, I'm not very good. I taught myself using YouTube videos but look at what I started this morning! I love it already!

The pattern is Sunny Baby Blanket. I will post the pattern here once I've finished the blanket.

It's been nice today having this to do and keeping my hands and mind both occupied.

(This could be classed as a clue as to our big decision I wrote about in my last post!!)

I have no idea what is going on with the weather at the moment. One minute it is hot and sunny with clear blue skies and the next it is hailing, and it is literally that quick of a change. On Saturday I helped my Mum move and as I climbed into the back of the van to grab the next piece of furniture the heavens opened and massive hail stones started falling.. I ended up trapped in the back of the van for 20 minutes until the blue skies reappeared.

Yesterday was the London Marathon. I am inspired by all the people that take part and run 26 miles, most of them to raise money for charity. This year my Brother-in-law took part! He is always running marathons and last year took part in the Iron Man, which he finished in 12 hours! (I get tired just thinking about it!) Anyway, I watched the whole thing on TV in the hopes of spotting him. I did, right at the end of the route they were interviewing another runner and Adrian went wizzing past! I text my sister in a tizzy of excitment! I don't know why but when the marathon started and they all set off I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes. I would love to take part one year but I know that I do not have the physical or mental stamina. I'd get to the first Starbucks and decide that a Cappuccino was a better idea!

I hope you all had a good weekend!

    1. Thank you! The pattern for this blanket is quite simple but I think it looks beautiful.. Anything more complicated and I suck!

I tried to learn to crochet but I just couldn't get the hang of it! I keep trying though lol x

Good job on quitting, keep it up!

Also, try switching the view of your post to HTML when you are writing, plug in the code and then switch back to the other view and it should show the picture and alL! :)

  4. That's a great simple knit design- I'm the same, I love to knit but I'm rubbish at complicated patterns. I've also never done anything besides rectangular shapes- scarves, blankets. I'm nervous to try a hat or socks or something. Can't wait to see the pattern and finished result of yours!
