Stressful..

The only word I can use to describe this week is, Stressful.

James became ill on Tuesday and since then my life has consisted of dirty laundry, disinfectant and the BRATT diet. He seems to be a lot better today and mostly back to normal.. Just in time for Anthony to start showing symptoms.. Trying to deal with my Emetophobia whilst dealing with sickness has sent me into a tail spin and for the past 4 days I have been spending my days anxiety ridden whilst trying to put on a brave face.. It's is draining!

Just before James got ill.. We spent a gorgeous morning in the garden.

It such a shame that the weather has been gorgeous this week, whilst we've been cooped up in the house.. It's meant to turn cold again next week and I believe it. The temperature today has dropped dramatically.

Thankfully though, James seems to be on the mend *fingers crossed!*

He was full of beans this morning after spending another night in our bed..

Who knew how much fun you could have with a free promotional balloon from Wilkinsons?

He starts his Piano lessons in about a month but his new thing to do is sit at the Piano and play whilst everyone around him sings nursery rhymes..

I assure you, it's very cute!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Miscellany Monday

Yesterday I had big plans to do a Sunday Roast Dinner with a Leg of Lamb I had brought the day before from our local meat man that comes every Saturday.. I had it all planned.. Until on Sunday morning I pulled the meat out of the fridge and it was Green.. Ewww.. The only colour I can describe it is the colour of mould.. Although it wasn't mouldy.. I didn't want to take any chances with it so into the bin it went :(

So instead of a lovely Roast that I had planned.. I dug some chicken breasts out, added onions and peppers and some chopped Tomatoes..

It went nice with Roast Potatoes and honey roasted Veg.. Well the boys seemed to enjoy it!

***************

James has a fascination at the moment with seeds and planting them. Every time he has an apple we have to take the seeds out and plant them. My bath room window sil is filled with Yoghurt pots, all with little seeds growing in them..

Today we took a trip to Wilkinsons and purchased him some seeds & compost.. We want to encourage the love that he has for growing food :)

***************

I have so much that I want to do in the house but at the moment with the weather being so nice.. I find it hard to motivate myself.. A blanket on the grass and this little man are much more appealing..

I hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weather!

Vintage.

I have just won my first ever blog giveaway!! I never win anything so I am super excited! I've just recently discovered Stacy at "Dutchdoorcottage" ( http://www.dutchdoorcottage.blogspot.com/ ) and she was doing a give away for a French Vintage Look milk bottle and a copy of the Premier Issue of Vintage Style.. And I won!

Not a lot of people know this about me but I am totally inspired by the 1940's and 50's.. Everything about it! The clothing, the home decor, how they ran their homes.. I'm always telling Anthony that I wish we lived in the 40's & 50's so I could have been a housewife then.

Slowly slowly I am trying to add Vintage items to my home. So I thought I'd share with you some items off my wish list.

Firstly.. This bedding..

Isn't it beautiful!

I already have the Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Cookie Jar, Utensil Jar and Bread Bin in this range.. These would be awesome too though!

I would love this metal sign in my kitchen...

and this one in my bathroom...
Oh and this in my bathroom too!

And lastly.. How cute are these..

Bit by bit, I'm going to add these things to my home!

Sunday's Review

It's that time of the week again! Yep, it's Sunday's Review! If you want to play along then go check out http://www.pktaswegrow.com/ and link up!

This week I...

Tried to spend more time than usual playing with James..

Somedays I passed with flying colours and other days I failed..

***************

I undertook a marathon cleaning session, which is still on-going.. I am surprised though that the places I've already cleaned are still sparkling.. I give it another 2 days before James has totally destroyed everything again.

***************

We had a Piano delivered.. James and Anthony are both going to take lessons to learn how to play.. James' new favorite thing to do is sit and 'play' :)

***************

We enjoyed the first few days of Spring by spending time in the garden! I love it when the weather starts getting warmer. More time outdoors equals a happy James! And on a side note, since this photo was taken I have cut the grass so it does not look like a jungle anymore!

***************

James has an allergy to Wheat & Gluten so trying to find 'treats' for him when we're out is near impossible. I make all his cakes and things from stratch at home. Yesterday a new cupcake shop opened in town so I popped in there to be nosy and they sell Wheat & Gluten free cupcakes!! I had to buy one for James.. By the way, he LOVED it!

Oh and I got my belly button pierced! But thats a story for another post!

Spring Cleaning.

I have never in my whole life, "Spring Cleaned".. I never saw the point in having a marathon cleaning session when it would just be wrecked in a few days anyway.. My views on this changed today! When I woke up this morning I wasn't in the best of moods and I had no idea what to do with our day.. Around 9.30am, the sun was shining and as I looked around my house, which wasn't messy but was a little un-tidy I decided there and then that I was going to have a 'Spring Clean'

I'm a big list maker.. If I have a lot on my mind or a massive task to undertake then you can be sure that my pad and pen will be with me :)

And then I was off... I've gotten about three quarters of my list completed today.. I've washed nets, I've washed windows, I've disinfected the kitchen from top to bottom, I've cleaned the bathroom like it's never been cleaned before, I washed the front door. I pulled out all the furniture downstairs and hoovered. I even mowed the front lawn.. I literally started and didn't stop for five hours..

Tomorrow I plan on emptying all the cupboards in my kitchen.. Cleaning them and then putting everything back in a logical order.

I like organising and cleaning. I didn't realise until today how much better I feel when I have a super clean house.

Please ignore the mess that I call a garden.. It is a "work in progress!"

Now I know that within 2 days Anthony and James will have un-done all my hard work but for now I am going to relish in my hard work..

***************

Yesterday we had a Piano delivered. It is a restoration project for Anthony & James to work on together. Last week we signed James up for Piano lessons and his face when the Piano was delivered was priceless. I don't think I've ever seen him so excited!

***************

After James was so well behaved whilst I started my Spring Cleaning I figured he deserved some fun in garden..

James is fascinated with Ladybirds at the moment... So much so that he sits and talks to them...

We have plans for a bonfire tonight.. We have a lot of wood in the garden to burn and I love bonfires!

Happy Friday!

Miscellany Monday

I cannot get over the weather today.. It's sunny and there isn't a cloud in the sky. It's been B-E-A-U-TI-FUL! We've spent all day out of the house, mostly mooching around the town. I don't want to be cooped in on a day like today..

Whilst we were out I discovered my new favourite snack..

A Strawberry Milkshake Donut.. It's delicious!

We went for breakfast and I swear James eats more than any other three year old I know.. He polished off Bacon, Eggs & Beans quicker than I could finish my cup of tea..

Oh and I found these babies for £12.. I like a good bargain!

I haven't had trainers in months and I had forgotten how comfy they were.. I love heels but since having James my feet just don't like them :(

Today I also had to do something that I didn't want to do but was necessary for my sanity.. This had to go back up on our kitchen door..

I originally took it down months ago but James is still into everything and one big rule in my house is that he doesn't help himself to food.. A few weeks back he figured out that by moving the dining table chairs and climbing on them he can reach the food cupboards.. I swear if I let him he'd eat all day long. In the end I got so fed up of telling him "No!" & "Get off the chair!" & "Stop climbing on the counters!" I gave in and said Hello to the baby gate again..

Now I have to try and expel some energy from my hyperactive child who is currently trying to feed the dog play scissors... Excuse me..

Mothers Day Weekend

Today is Mothering Sunday.. My little man might drive me crazy and by the end of most days I am pulling my hair out but he is the baby we tried for five years for. He's the baby that I suffered through five miscarriages for. He is the baby that scared me when I was 23 weeks pregnant and the doctors thought that my waters had broken. He is my baby that made me a Mummy. He is so worth the days that I am so exhausted that I don't think I could function for one more moment. He makes me smile every single day.

I love him...

This weekend has been mostly relaxing. Apart from a shopping trip yesterday morning.. We have pretty much had one big chill out session.

I purchased all of these on our shopping trip yesterday.

Yes! That is Mary Poppins that you see! I'm in heaven. James had never seen Toy Story before but I had to buy it because I knew that he would love it. He doesn't really have the attention span to sit through movies yet but I was right, he LOVED it! This morning when he woke up the first thing he asked for was to watch Toy Story.. Not that I'm promoting using the electronic babysitter.. We watch movies together and talk about them so that's a positive in my eyes!

We've had a Pizza Picnic dinner..

We made Mothers Day presents for Nanny..

And then this morning Anthony & James brought me a cup of tea in bed :) I think it's nice that us Mummy's get a day of appreciation once a year!
